Acting Assistant Administrator, Grant Programs Directorate
Tracey Trautman currently serves as the Acting Assistant Administrator for the Grant Programs Directorate (GPD), the central location for grants management at FEMA. These offices are tasked with the provision of credible leadership of FEMA grants, transparent data and processes, collaborative partnerships with stakeholders, and connection to Homeland Security priorities and outcomes. Over the last three years, GPD programs awarded over $50 billion in federal financial assistance.
As the senior career staff member, Ms. Trautman is responsible for the oversight of the two divisions within GPD and the management of all programmatic and financial responsibilities for grant programs across FEMA's eight directorates. These responsibilities include the development, administration, implementation, award and closeout of 52 different disaster and non-disaster grant and financial assistance programs.
Ms. Trautman began work on these preparedness programs at the inception of the Department of Homeland Security in March of 2003. Prior to coming to DHS/FEMA, she served as a full-time National Guard officer at the National Guard Bureau in Arlington, Virginia. In that role, she worked development and implementation issues associated with the Civil Support Team (CST) program.
She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Communications from North Dakota State University and a Masters of Public Administration from George Mason University in Virginia.
